Following our children’s work on The Dignity of the Human Person, we were delighted that in response to a letter from Phoebe in Year 6, Mr Burnham (Mayor of Greater Manchester) today visited Sacred Heart RC school.
Mr Burnham, Maeve Glenn and Councillor Kieran Heakin were given a tour of the school by Phoebe (pupil chaplain), Maya and Clemence (School Councillor) before speaking to our Year 6 class about their work on the homeless and loneliness. Each of our classes, presented Mr Burnham with a ‘Blessings Bag’ to be given to a homeless person and our Year 6 children also presented him with a donation of £100 to, GTMCR Mayor’s Homeless Fund which, was raised through our Lenten observances.
