On Wednesday our Year 5 class visited St Cuthbert’s RC High school where they took part in creating media leaflets – thank you for making us feel so welcome the children thoroughly enjoy their visits.
We had a very busy Friday as our Year 6 completed a first aid course, which, I am sure you will agree, is a very important life skill.

On Saturday the children making their First Holy Communion at Sacred Heart RC Church were invited by Father O’Kane to visit Wardley Hall in Worsley, the Bishops residency. On Thursday our Year 5 visited St Cuthbert’s RC High school for an IT and Media morning – where the children used creative media using power point to create a TV advert to promote our school A big thank you for inviting us, the children loved their experience.
This week our curriculum house competition is continuing, this has been a great success with the children. Our sporting theme for this week is tag rugby and the children have all shown great competitive spirit. This week three of our Year 6 children took part in a Boccia and new age Kurling Event at Wardle Academy. This was the first time our school have participated in this particular event. The children enjoyed themselves and showed some supper skills.
Children across the school have taken part in the Big Schools Birdwatch to support the RSPB’s research. With binoculars and identification charts the children greatly enjoyed spotting and naming birds around the school grounds. Our results will be sent to the RSPB to help them look after our countries bird and wildlife.
