This week’s Roman Catholic Statement to live by is:

I know how to help others when they are in trouble.

Today’s gospel story is about a sick man who was in trouble and needed help. Listen carefully to how his friends helped him.

A reading from the holy Gospel according to St Mark

Glory to you, O Lord.

One day a crowd turned up at Jesus’ house.

There were so many people that they could not fit in the house.

Along came some men with their friend on a stretcher (he couldn’t move his Legs or arms so he had to be carried)

When they arrived at the house and saw the crowds they knew they would not get near Jesus.

They had a good idea.

They climbed onto the roof, made a hole and let the man through the ceiling into the house.

Jesus saw him and made him better.

The man stood up, picked up his stretcher and walked out.

Everyone was amazed.

The Gospel of the Lord.

Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
