Our Roman Catholic Statement to Live by, is ‘I co-operate with others in work and play.’
Welcome back to everyone. We have had a busy first week with the children and parents preparing themselves for Lent by working together to make their Lenten promises.
Also last Thursday, the School Council organised a CAFOD Cinema Celebration night to raise funds for those children in the world who do not have enough food to eat. Thank you to everyone who supported by attending the film evening or by helping on the night. The children had a wonderful time and it was a great success – watch out for the next one!
Next week marks the start of Lent and we have some exciting things planned for Shrove Tuesday including making, eating and tossing pancakes, not forgetting our annual pancake race!
On Ash Wednesday the Key Stage 2 children will attend Mass at Sacred Heart RC Church and receive the Ashes. Younger children and staff will have the opportunity to receive ashes when Father visits school in the afternoon.
Next Thursday we will celebrate World Book Day in school and have invited the children to come into school wearing hats to represent their favourite book or character from a book. There will be a prize for the two children in each class with the winning, ‘home made’ hats. Parents are welcome to stay for our World Book Day assembly at 9.00am.
