School Life

Our Roman Catholic Statement to Live by is: I can recognise comfortable and uncomfortable feelings.

On Monday and Tuesday we were once again very pleased to welcome the Spiritans to school who prepared and celebrated Mass with the children in years 4, 5 and 6. In years one and two the team worked with the children to prepare Liturgical Services.

Also on Tuesday, our Little Hearts met to enjoy playing and praying together. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend. There is no charge or need to book and all pre-school aged children and their parents/carers are most welcome to attend our next session on  Tuesday 30th April 2.45 pm.

The children in years three and four have this week enjoyed visits to Touchstones were they learnt more about their topics on the Romans and Ancient Egypt.

Representatives in year 5 received a warm welcome from St Cuthbert’s on Thursday were they took part in a Fair trade workshop. The children had a wonderful time and have been able to share their learning with the rest of class on their return.

There were lots of smiles in year 1 on Thursday when Dogs Trust visited their classroom. The children learnt more about how to care for animals and our responsibilities when looking after our pets.

On Friday the children took their learning logs home, we always enjoy sharing in the children’s hard work and creativity – thank you again for continuing to support your children in completing these to such high standards.

Representatives from our school council were welcomed by the children at NordenPrimary School on Friday where able to work together. The whole school council continue to be very active in school and are currently working on a number of projects including gathering the children’s views on how to improve the school grounds.
