School Life

Our Roman Catholic Statement to Live By this week is: I can learn from my mistakes and failures.

We have all been trying to live more like Jesus during Lent by this week trying to share more with each other.

On Tuesday Fr Patrick and Joel from the Spiritans celebrated Mass in the school hall. The children and teacher’s worked very hard to prepare beautiful prayers and reflections and once again it was lovely to be joined by parents, carers, governors and parishioners.

During Lent, Mass will be celebrated in the school Hall every Tuesday at 9.10am – all welcome.

There have been lots of activities this week in school to celebrate World Book Week. The children have enjoyed reading their favourite books, swapping books and listening to volunteer readers in class. Thank you to everyone who came into school to read to the children and share their favourite stories.

Our Nursery and Reception children have this week enjoyed their field studies along the canal. They have been learning lots about our whole school topic on water as well as all about where they live.

The children in year one greatly enjoyed learning more about the Victorians when on Wednesday they visited Touchstones to learn about a Victorian Washday.

The children in years 3 and 5 have this week worked with the Road Safety team to learn more about keeping safe whilst walking near and crossing roads.

Thank you to the staff and children in year 2 who presented a wonderful Mothers Day Assembly and to all those who managed to join us for this celebration.

Please try to return the St Joseph’s Penny Boxes by March 19th
