Our Roman Catholic Statement to Live By is, ‘I know that it is okay for me to mistakes’.
We have continued our journey through Lent this week with a whole school Mass celebrated by Father Favion and Joel (a Church student) . There will be a Mass in school each Tuesday of Lent at 9.10am and as always all parents, carers and friends of the school are welcome to join us in school.
The children and staff have all been trying to grow more like Jesus by keeping their Lenten Promises. This week we have focussed on trying to help each other more and recognise those who need our help.
The Caritas collection boxes have now been sent home and we would be very grateful of your donations towards helping those in need. The children can colour in their boxes and once returned to school the best one in each class will receive a prize. Please return to school by 19th March.
The children in key stage two are organising a Toy Sale to raise money for ST Joseph’s Penny. Please have a look at home and ask your friends if they have any toys in good condition that they could donate for us to sell. Toys, books, games can all be sent into school and the children in year 4 will organise their collection from classes.
The children in years 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 have this week started our whole school topic on water by taking part in field studies along the canal and around HollingworthLake. Next week the children in the foundation stage will also enjoy walks along the canal.
Thank you year 4 for a wonderful assembly on Friday which was shared with the whole school as well as parents/carers. Next Friday (March 8th) Year 2 will present a special Mothers’ Day Assembly and we will be holding a Mothers’ Day Sale for the children to buy a gift.

World Book Day. Thursday 7th March. Your child is welcome to bring a book to school to “swop”. The School Council have chosen the menu for that day.
